A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation :
During Orientation week for the Fall 2022 semester, all new students were invited to take a tour of campus. The tour includes information about the services available on our campus, such as our health and wellness department, our counselling department, our all-gender washrooms and our club rooms (including Eco-clubs, multicultural clubs, lgbtq club).
Following the tour, Student volunteers on our "Green Team" helped new students to sort their waste at our waste sorting stations. All students present learned about how waste is sorted on our campus.
At the beginning of the semester, all students were invited to participate in a sustainability-themed scavenger hunt, that encouraged them to explore sustainability infrastructure or projects on campus (native bee habitat, vegetable gardens, composting program, water bottle filling stations, etc.)
During the school's "Welcome Back BBQ" a booth advertising sustainability opportunities was set up for students.
