A brief description of how the assessment was developed:

In an effort to learn about the environmental awareness and concerns at Jefferson Community & Technical College, the Business Affairs Office conducted its first sustainability survey November 3-15, 2011. Intending to grasp and assess the attitudes of JCTC students, faculty, and staff, the survey is one of the first steps towards realizing Jefferson’s commitment to the stewardship of the environment and to reducing the College’s dependency on non-renewable energy.

A brief description of how the assessment was administered:

A web-based survey was created by Google and distributed via email directly to all students, faculty, and staff at Jefferson, using distribution lists generated by the college. The survey was also posted on Jefferson's sustainability website, along with other sustainability news and information.

A brief summary of results from the assessment:

The report contains responses to over 20 questions pertaining to opinions regarding JCTC involvement, energy conservation, green building practices, and recycling. In addition, suggestions were made regarding ideas for improvements in the area of sustainability, barriers the college faces to becoming more sustainable, as well as the overall impression of cultivating an environment for sustainability at JCTC.
