Yes
A brief description of the event(s):
Annual events are held on each campus, including RecycleMania, America Recycles Day, Earth Week, and other events to raise awareness about sustainabie initiatives at the college. In addition to the annual events, special contests are also promoted to raise awareness about sustainable ideas and spark thought and creativity throughout the college.
Jefferson holds major annual events related to sustainability with students as a focused audience. A couple of events include hosting the Campus Community Partnerships in Sustainability and Bluegrass Bioneers in 2013.
Partnering with Brightside, a Louisville Metro Government agency, as a member of the Partnership for a Green City, Jefferson co-hosts the Environmental Youth Summit in the fall and spring. The Youth Summit empowers students to examine their personal choices and address ways in which they can make small changes in their daily living that will result in improved health and environmental impact at school, at home, and in the Louisville metropolitan area.
