Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
Per STARS guidance, certification status of buildings must be current at the time of submission. Furthermore, data should be obtained for all new constructions and major renovations within 5 years of submission. Therefore, all data entered for this credit was obtained from Sept 2019 - Sept 2024. According to STARS guidance: “Buildings for which certification is pending should not be counted as certified space, and these buildings may be excluded from the institution’s profile for up to 2 years following registration with a rating system.”
The Convocation Center Renovation and D-Hub Renovation did not exceed 50% of the building cost, so they were not constructed under a green building standard. The East Campus Power Plant Landscape Storage Building is 4,900 square feet in area and was not required to be designed and built under a green building standard. The Foundation is separate from JMU.
Even though completed in July 2020, Dukes Dining Hall is still pending LEED certification, so it was included in the "Total floor area of newly constructed or renovated building space" and "Designed and built in accordance with a multi-attribute green building code, policy, guideline, or rating system, but not certified/verified."
