A brief description of the institution’s third party certified land holdings:
JMU first received 2017 Tree Campus USA recognition in early 2018 and this certification has been renewed successfully each year. JMU received Bee Campus USA recognition and certification in 2019 and has been renewed successfully each year since. According to Sue Paist, Arbnet Coordinator, JMU has Level I Arboretum certification which was renewed in 2023 and will be valid for 5 years.
