Total energy consumption, performance year:
1,105,778.97 MMBtu

Clean and renewable electricity (report kilowatt-hours):
kWh MMBtu
Imported electricity from certified/verified clean and renewable sources (i.e., bundled green power purchases) 0 Kilowatt-hours 0 MMBtu
Electricity from on-site, clean and renewable sources (rights retained/retired) 12,895 Kilowatt-hours 44.00 MMBtu

A brief description of the certified/verified sources of clean and renewable electricity:

A brief description of the on-site renewable electricity generating facilities/devices:

JMU generates renewable electricity from two sources: a 10-kW solar-electric (photovoltaic) array and a 7.5 kW wind turbine. This solar array connects directly and provides clean power to King Hall. A project is underway to replace these older panels with new, state-of-the-art technology which will result in generating capacity of 300 kW by 2022. JMU currently utilizes the wind and solar facilities primarily as teaching tools for students of JMU and surrounding Virginia schools. Learn more about JMU's renewable generating facilities at https://www.jmu.edu/case/about/facilities.shtml.

Clean and renewable thermal energy (report MMBtu):
Clean and renewable stationary fuels used on-site to generate thermal energy 0 MMBtu
Imported steam, hot water, and/or chilled water from certified/verified clean and renewable sources 0 MMBtu

A brief description of the clean and renewable stationary fuels:

A brief description of the certified/verified sources of clean and renewable thermal energy:

Unbundled renewable energy products (report kWh):
kWh MMBtu
Purchased RECs, GOs, I-RECs or equivalent unbundled renewable energy products certified by a third party 224,000 Kilowatt-hours 764.29 MMBtu

A brief description of the unbundled renewable energy products:

In FY 2019, JMU purchased RECs to offset some of the projected energy consumption over a 2-year period for the USB Annex Building.

Total clean and renewable energy generated or purchased:
808.29 MMBtu
