A brief description of the institution’s efforts to support alternative fuel and power technology in its motorized fleet:
Several initiatives are supporting alternative fuels at JMU: 1) Propane Program: Beginning with a partnership with Virginia Clean Cities in 2010, JMU has converted 27 vehicles to use propane and will continue to convert eligible vehicles as conversion kits become available. 2) Motor Pool: Fleet vehicles used to travel long distances are being switched to gas-hybrids as older vehicles are replaced.
