A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
JMU incorporates sustainability information into our phase 2 orientation whose target audience is all full time classified employees (does not include faculty). New faculty members are provided with sustainability information during new faculty orientation, which is held at the start of each new academic year. Through both programs, new employees are provided with an overview of sustainability and are given information about participating in campus environmental stewardship efforts (such as using a deskside recycling bin and enrolling in trainings). The faculty are also presented with JMU sustainability information related to teaching and professional development.
