A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the municipal/local level, including the issues, legislation, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:
Ithaca College is an active member of Tompkins County Climate Protection Initiative (TCCPI) as well as ridesharing coalitions. The institution has been actively engaged in support of the Town's Green Building Policy which is expected to become law in 2020.

A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the state/provincial/regional level, including the issues, legislation, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:
Ithaca College is an active member of the New York Consortium for Sustainability in Higher Education, which advocates for state-wide sustainability issues. In Summer 2018, in partnership with University at Buffalo and Cornell, we met with State Legislative Assembly Members and energy chairs to advocate for more state-wide renewable energy development as the current legal framework was not in sync with the state's reported renewable goals.

The college is a charter member of AASHE and Second Nature. The college is also a signatory of the "We Are Still In" campaign, advocating for the US to progress with the Paris Climate Accord goals.

The College is a signatory of the "We Are Still In" campaign and actively engaged with the annual COP, sending student and / or faculty delegates to the conference for the past several years.
