A brief description of how representative samples were reached (if applicable) and how the cultural assessment is administered:
The assessment was administered to incoming freshmen students through the Ithaca College Seminar Series (ICSM). ICSM is a series of courses available exclusively to freshman students that orient them to college and the liberal arts education. Faculty teaching ICSM courses supplement lectures with presentations from campus partners/experts, which is how we were able to administer the assessment. Approximately 150 students participated. The assessment consisted of live-polling followed by a review of correct answers and explanation of their importance and application.
Additional information on the ICSM program is available here: https://www.ithaca.edu/ithacaseminar/
A brief summary of results from the cultural assessment, including a description of any measurable changes over time:
The 2018-2019 academic year was the first time we administered the assessment so, we are unable to provide any measurable changes at this time. However, we intend to reassess the class of 2022 during their senior year.
