Take It Or Leave It (TIOLI)
A brief description of the campaign, including how students and/or employees were engaged (2nd campaign):
Take It Or Leave It (TIOLI) started as a team effort with the Ithaca College Environmental Society (ICES) to help reduce the amount of waste generated on campus when students move out after the spring semester. Just before students move out, we put TIOLI bins in at least one lounge in each dorm, and they can drop off things they don’t want to keep and pick up things they like. After we collect all of the bins, the food is donated to a local food bank and the clothes are donated to the Salvation Army or other local charities. The clothes that are collected in the bins and those left over are also donated to local charities.
A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign (2nd campaign):
Several vehicle loads of donated goods are brought to the Ithaca Reuse Center each year to benefit those in need in the community.
