A brief description of the cultural competence trainings and activities:
The Office of Student Leadership and Involvement offers the annual Cross-Cultural Leadership Retreat. This two and a half day retreat presents the opportunity to explore various aspects of diversity and their relationship to leadership. During the retreat, the entire group will participate in a series of educational sessions and discuss issues as a large group, as well as in smaller, informal conversations. Recognizing that all Ithaca College students belong to a multitude of different cultures including areas of ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, socio-economic status and many more. The retreat hosts look for a group of people that come from many different cultural backgrounds, including those in the "majority." Every Ithaca College student is eligible to apply to participate in the Cross-Cultural Leadership Retreat. All costs for retreat participation are covered; students interested must submit an application for consideration.
