Local advocacy
A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the municipal/local level:
Students and professors from Tec Guadalajara in collaboration with the University of Guadalajara (UdeG) and the Environmental Sciences Office from the State of Jalisco Government created an ongoing research program to create solutions for environmental challenges in the state of Jalisco.
The teams from both universities and the State Office will work together in designing research protocols, with a primary focus on citizen environmental science for their key areas. This initiative will adress the following major topics (priorities for the State of Jalisco) such as air quality, prevention of respiratory issues, plastic management, water vulnerability and safety and vehicular traffic.

National advocacy
A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the national level:
Tec de Monterrey, as co-coordinator of SDSN Mexico, participated in the multi-sector alliance led by the Executive Secretariat of the National Council of the 2030 Agenda of the Ministry of Economy, GIZ México and SDSN México. This initiative launched a national call to articulate the needs of local governments in terms of sustainable development, with leaders of replicable solutions and financing sources. The project articulated 27 alliances which worked during 2022 to implement some of the agreed projects in the identified locations.
