A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting, including the timeframe for when the analysis was conducted and how a representative sample was reached, if applicable:

The total amount of commuter lot permits, pre pay parking spots, meters, and those with medical driving needs were totaled to estimate the average number of students who drive their own personal vehicle to campus. This came to a total of 2,710 students. This indicates that 33,291 students use more sustainable commuting options are their primary means of transportation, indicating 92.47% of the student body at Iowa State.
