A brief description of the institution’s main campus and other aspects of the institutional boundary used to complete this report:

The institutional boundary includes the core teaching, research, residence, athletic and recreation facilities that are regularly used by ISU students, faculty and staff as part of the regular campus experience. This also includes underdeveloped wooded lands that ISU holds for protection of the natural environment and observational learning.

Which of the following features are present on campus and which are included within the institutional boundary?:
Present? Included?
Agricultural school Yes Yes
Medical school No No
Other professional school with labs and clinics (e.g. dental, nursing, pharmacy, public health, veterinary) Yes Yes
Satellite campus No No
Farm larger than 5 acres or 2 hectares No No
Agricultural experiment station larger than 5 acres or 2 hectares No No
Hospital No No

The rationale for excluding any features that are present from the institutional boundary:

The institutional boundary excludes land we lease to others and our research farms. Also excluded from this boundary are areas that are on long term operational lease to either the City of Ames or the Department of Energy and ISU holds no operational or improvement responsibility for these lands.
