GREENWORKING IDS


Date and Location: October 5th, Aula Magna 5302 and Terraza 52


Description: This exclusive networking event was organized for the IDS community. Students, professors, companies, special guests, and EXATECS from various industries were invited to engage through dynamic activities, sharing significant intergenerational experiences. The event featured two conferences on sustainability and gender perspective by the Green Chamber of Commerce Mexico and EXATEC STEAM. Bioferia also participated to promote their event.

Description: During this event, SADES and Tecnológico de Monterrey had a stand to represent the importance of universities in climate action and sustainability in Mexico. They shared student activities and projects promoting sustainability within the school and communities, and introduced the Ruta Azul plan as one of Tec's direct actions to address these issues. Collaboration with IDEAS CCM from Ciudad de México campus was crucial for logistics and setup. Participants attended conferences and workshops, forming connections for future joint events.

"Alianzas para el Cambio: Universidades y Estudiantes en la Agenda de Sustentabilidad en América Latina"

Description: In collaboration with SALRI, Sustainable Development Engineering and International Relations students from Campus Santa Fe organized the event. The focus was on SDG 4: Quality Education, specifically indicator 4.7, to ensure students acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including education for sustainable development, human rights, gender equality, a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship, and cultural diversity. The event featured a panel discussion with experts such as Dr. Christopher Kurt Kiessling, Tomas Antolínez, and Javiera Alfaro on the role of universities and students in implementing public policies and agreements for sustainability in Latin America.

Description: Weekly workshops on basic nuclear energy for students, culminating in a visit to the Laguna Verde plant and the National Institute of Nuclear Research.

Soil Restoration at Campus Santa Fe


Description: Restoring the coniferous forest ecosystem on campus and educating about ecosystem functions for a greener campus. The goal is to return the degraded area to its original state and maintain it until it is self-sustaining. Future collaboration with the sustainability committee is planned to create a green space for promoting sustainability events and activities at Tec.
