Percentage of new employees that are offered orientation and/or outreach and guidance materials that cover sustainability topics:

A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
New employees are invited to participate in orientation topics such as diversity workshops. An example is the Safe Zone program that provides training to address discrimination based on sexual orientation and our LGBTQ+ communities. Additionally, IUS provides an Academic-Professional Recruitment and Search Guide that ensures bias-free recruitment (pages 11-13). Principles of Ethical Conduct are made available to employees. Examples of this can be found in
Section III- Standards of Conduct:
Section 2-Be Fair and Respectful to Others: Committed to inclusion, tolerance, diversity, and respect for differences
d. Strive to be objective in their professional judgment of colleagues;
e. Avoid all forms of harassment, discrimination, threats, or violence;
Section 10- Promote Health and Safety in the Workplace.
a. Protect the environment, including learning and following applicable health and safety policies and protocol, and carefully handling hazardous waste and other potentially harmful agents, materials, or conditions; and
b. Protect the health of others and themselves by not smoking or using tobacco on campus, and maintaining a substance-free workplace.
An overview of the Healthy IU Program is introduced that offers services and workshops which include but are not limited to physical well-being, peace of mind, work + life, and year-round programs. Not only this but recordings of past workshop handouts and recordings are available.
