IUPUI Healthy High Performance Cleaning Standards:

Healthy High Performance Cleaning (HHPC) takes traditional cleaning beyond appearances with procedures, chemicals, tools and equipment designed to make our buildings the safest, healthiest and cleanest they have ever been. Since cleaning can play a major role in the health, safety and performance of a building's occupants, implementing an HHPC program is now more import ant than ever. HHPC is a key part of operating a facility in an environmentally friendly way. It improves employee and occupant health, reduces worker compensation claims, and improves organizational reputation and brand equity among students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding community. It also presents a new opportunity to market and differentiate. Objectives of HHPC are achieved through the utilization of equipment, supplies, chemicals, hand soap, plastic and paper.

Energy Management:
All IUPUI buildings are sub-metered for electricity utilizing ION meters. The meters are connected to the cloud and push live utility usage updates every 15 minutes. The data from sub-meters is projected into EnergyCap (https://www.energycap.com/), an energy management software, that aggregates the data. This data is then used for billing and to identify areas of energy waste.
All IUPUI Buildings are also managed with summer/winter set points to maintain set temperature levels for efficiency during respective seasons and facility use.

IUPUI Water Efficiency Programs:
https://sustainability.iupui.edu/operations/water/index.html
IUPUI uses Smart Irrigation technology; IUPUI utilizes rainwater recovery systems to power two irrigation systems; IUPUI employs low-flow faucets, toilets, and showers across campus to make water use as efficient as possible; IUPUI has implemented structural stormwater controls to reduce the pollutant load of campus stormwater runoff. In addition to structural controls, IUPUI also has rain gardens which retain and filter runoff, reducing up to 30% of the pollutants. Most buildings are sub-metered for water and connected to a cloud-based utility reporting software - EnergyCAP.

Additional Campus Facilities Sustainability Initiatives:
https://cfs.iupui.edu/sustainability.html
Storm drain marking - Creates awareness regarding storm water runoff
Operation and maintenance of storm water infrastructure, including quality units (SQU's) or (BMP's) - Reduces harmful storm water runoff through data collection and proper management of runoff
Installation and maintenance of utility metering - Allows for measuring and management of utility usage
Implemented remote metering - Allows for trending of data, quicker response during outages and helps identify energy saving opportunities
