"Indiana University follows guidelines set forth by the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The FLSA is an employee protection act that establishes minimum wage, overtime pay, equal pay, and recordkeeping laws based on an employee's classification. In addition, in order to meet the needs of the IU community in an economy that is increasing the standard of living, IU has increased the minimum wage for temporary employees to $10.15 per hour ($2.40 per hour higher than the state minimum wage) and $11.00 per hour for regular employees ($3.25 per hour higher than the state minimum wage).

Employees working 30 hours or more are considered full-time employees in accordance with the Affordable Care Act. As such, health and dental benefits are provided, with a wage no less than $11.00 per hour.

Employees working 29 hours or less are considered part-time employees in accordance with the Affordable Care Act. As such, health and dental benefits are not provided, with a wage no less than $10.15/hr.
