A brief description of the child care program, policy, or practice:

The Center for Young Children is located on the IUPUI campus in downtown Indianapolis. The Center provides child care and early childhood education for the University's diverse population as well as the general public and is also a supportive unit of IUPUI. The center is licensed through the state of Indiana. All of the children are encouraged and guided by experienced, degreed and professional teachers. Being part of the University, the Center also acts as a research and training site where students can put textbook theory to practice and faculty can investigate areas of early childhood development and family issues. CYC provides a safe and caring environment that promotes learning and child development. We offer year round programs for children ages 6 weeks - 5 years and also programs for school age children during the summer months.

The IUPUI Center for Young Children has different fee and tuition rates depending on a child's age, program which a child is enrolled in and the affiliation you have with the University community. Affiliation simply means the connection you have with the University. As of January 2011, we are expanding the affiliate group to include the following campus community members: IU Health, Riley, Methodist, NCAA, VA, and Wishard.
