Part 1. Wellness program

A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):

  1. Students: 

    1. IUPUI Student Health Services offers a variety of medical services at two convenient campus locations. Non-emergency services include general medical concerns such as sinus infections, earaches, colds, flu, pink eye, abdominal pain. Primary care services include physical exams, contraception, STD/STI testing, wellness screenings, and immunizations.

    2. Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides all IUPUI students access to group and individual counseling, assessment for learning and developmental concerns, psychiatric medication management, sexual and relationship violence advocacy, and workshops. 

    3. The Office of Health and Wellness Promotion coordinates large interactive awareness events and non-clinical direct services, including classroom presentations by request, alcohol and drug educational sanctions, health and wellness coaching, tobacco cessation, addiction recovery support meetings, student trainings, and campus-wide surveys. 

    4. Campus Recreation also provides indoor and outdoor Fitness Facilities, Intramural Sports, Club Sports, and a number of Fitness classes to help students stay active and get healthy.  https://studentaffairs.iupui.edu/health/index.html

    5. IUPUI also provides the Behavioral Consultation Team (BCT) a campus-wide team designed to support the health, safety, and success of the IUPUI community. The Behavioral Consultation Team provides consultation, makes recommendations for action, and coordinates campus resources in response to reports of disruptive or concerning behavior displayed by students, staff or faculty. https://bct.iupui.edu/



  2. Staff and Faculty

    1. Healthy IU is Indiana University’s employee wellness program. Healthy IU is a Center of Expertise of IU Human Resources. Healthy IU's mission is to empower, educate, and offer environmental tools to encourage members of the IU community to live their best life. Resources, programs, and workshops are free for faculty and staff and their spouses, such as Health Screenings, Wellness Resources that include Nutrition, Weight Management, Physical Activity, Sleep, Mental Well-Being, Chronic Diseases management, Inspiration & Culture, Workshops, Seasonal Flu Vaccines, Tobacco Cessation, Cancer Risk Reduction & Treatment Resources, along with resources for Work + Life Balance https://healthy.iu.edu/index.html

    2. Indiana University system-wide provides Full-time Academic and Staff employees and their household members, Graduate Assistants, and Medical Residents access to an Employee Assistance Program (IUEAP). An eligible participant has access to a telephone helpline 365/24/7 and, with an EAP referral, may receive up to six face-to-face visits with a professional counselor. IUEAP services are confidential and voluntary, and include assistance for depression, stress and anxiety, conflict in the workplace, drug and alcohol abuse, family and marital problems, and grief and loss.
