A brief description of the certified/verified sources of clean and renewable electricity:

IUPUI is a member of the EPA Green Power Partnership and has been recognized for meeting 10 percent of its electricity needs with green power.


IUPUI purchases 10% of its electricity portfolio in Wind from AES Indiana. IUPUI participates in AES' Green Power Option, a program where the campus procures renewable energy certificates (REC) from certified green power producers, specifically Midwestern wind farms. IUPUI currently purchases 10% of its Central Electricity in this manner. This program is Green-e Energy Certified.


A brief description of the on-site renewable electricity generating facilities/devices:

Solar - Installed in 2013, the solar photo-voltaic panels atop the Business/School of Public and Environmental Affairs building generate 43 kilowatts of electricity a day.
