Research Inventory
Inventory of the institution’s sustainability research:
A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory:
The SDG keyword list developed by University of Toronto (https://sustainability.utoronto.ca/inventories/sustainable-development-goals-sdgs-keywords/) was combined with the keyword list historically used by IU to determine sustainability related activities. Active research was filtered such that 1) Research that began on or before June 30, 2022 was included (research beginning on or after July 1, 2022 was excluded) and 2) Research that ended on or before June 30, 2021 was excluded. The title of the research was cross referenced against the keyword list to produce the list of sustainability research.
Some individuals and departments are not specific to a particular campus, but are university-wide (coded "UA" in the inventory data). Because this research applies to all campuses, UA research is included in in IUPUI's data in addition to campus-specific research. UA data is included in both the total number of departments conducting research, and the total number conducting sustainability research. UA departments were not included in data reported in PRE5.
