A brief description of the green building guidelines or policies and/or a list or sample of buildings covered:
All new building and renovation projects must embrace sustainable design and building practices. Indiana University is committed to achieving LEED® Gold certification for all new projects. The IU Bicentennial Plan pledges to "implement plans to solidify IU’s focus on efficient and environmentally conscious campus design and operation by certifying all major new buildings with the LEED Green Building Certification System and elevate the minimum certification level to Gold." Indiana University incorporates green principles in all phases of a building's life cycle and is dedicated to developing and renovating buildings that use resources efficiently and create healthy environments.
IUPUI follows USGBC guidelines for LEED BD+C to design and construct all new buildings to LEED Gold standards. IUPUI has a total of seven LEED certified buildings, with three at the Gold level.
