IU Studios (campus marketing and communications unit) staff and student interns regularly write stories about IUPUI Sustainability initiatives that appear in publication. We recently received feedback from IU Studios: some of their best-performing stories last year were sustainability stories. They will be highlighting our efforts more this year and into the future.

IUPUI Food Services has posted signage in the dining hall promoting: 1. The importance of fostering and promoting sustainable business practices 2. That they source responsibly 3. The importance of our carbon footprint 4. Their procurement of only fair trade coffee and cage free eggs 5. Their practice of paying fair wages Additionally, their online menu designates food items that are: 1. Food that has balanced nutrients & portion size 2. Vegan menu options are free of all animal-based ingredients and by-products 3. Containing no solid meat but may contain eggs or dairy 4. Menu items made without gluten containing ingredients 5. Calorie content of food Additionally, on food waste day, IUPUI Food Services produced brochures and pamphlets communicating the importance of minimizing food waste and tips for how to.

The IUPUI Parking and Transportation Services website prominently features information and resources on sustainable modes of transportation, including motorized scooters, bicycling, walking, carpooling, campus commute, public transit, car sharing, campus shuttle, and EV charging stations. This website is linked on the IUPUI Sustainability website to increase access and awareness. There is also a phone app (JagLine) that allows students to track the shuttle locations at all times.
