Setting the standards and expectations for promotion and tenure is a task for individual schools and departments on the Bloomington campus. They vary substantially, where some units, perhaps many units, believe that establishing one’s research reputation within the discipline is vital for getting tenure.
Generally, candidates for tenure and promotion must meet five general requirements, which includes: Substantiation of contributions to research/creative activities.
