Does the institution offer at least one immersive, sustainability-focused educational study program that is one week or more in length?:
Yes
A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive program(s) offered by the institution, including how each program addresses the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of sustainability:
We lead an Ireland sustainability study abroad event which includes two weeks in Ireland. This course is built from our ENVI 460: Conservation and Sustainability class where I teach about social, economic, and environmental dimensions of sustainability. During the field component in Ireland we stay in an ecovillage, explore agricultural practices, study how the ecovillage was developed and managed, participate in homestays to deeply understand the local culture, participate in an archaeological dig to understand past cultures, and volunteer with service learning to help the current community.
Dr. Andrea Arrington lead a trip to Ghana for the HIST 498 Special Topics/AFRI 496 Special Topics course where students explored historical and globalization trends from an African perspective.
