3.1 Graduate programs with sustainability-focused learning requirements
List and description of the institution’s sustainability-focused degrees and majors for graduate students:
MASTERS in CONSERVATION BIOLOGY
This graduate program focuses on the preservation of biodiversity, prairie restoration, and studying the effects of anthropogenic environmental change. The coursework and overall discipline links ecology, genetics, evolution, and systematics to applied problems in biodiversity preservation and ecosystem function and maintenance.
MASTERS in BIOENERY SCIENCES
This course of study provides students with a strong conceptual background in biological and environmental aspects of using and engineering plants and microbes for the production of bio-based fuels.
MASTERS in APPLIED COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
This program is designed for students with previous sustainable development experiences. It is an interdicinipliary program to study social change from all angles. Students in this program complete one year of coursework on campus and then complete an 11-month paid professional practice experience in the field. Students pursuing this sequence receive a solid and relevant educational opportunity to pursue careers in community and economic development in the United States and around the world.

MASTER OF PUBLIC HEALTH
The Master of Public Health (MPH) program prepares individuals for the numerous challenges facing future health professionals. This interdisciplinary program develops essential public health skills in epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, health behavior, and public health leadership. The program includes environmental health classes and learning outcomes.
