Outdoor Classroom: A Co-Curricular Building Project

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
Faculty and students from multiple disciplines are designing, installing and obtaining funding for an outdoor classroom space. The space is will be used as a classroom and as a display of integrated environmental systems in a learning environment. The outdoor classroom is located in the middle of ISU's Horticulture Center. This area is used a green space for the education of students and community. At the Horticulture Center, students and faculty invest time into maintaining plants and beehives for sustainable purposes. This area is used as an education tool to assist students in learning about their environments. The outdoor classroom further extends students time at the Horticulture Center and reduces time spent inside a classroom.
