ISU has an Office of Sustainability. The office serves as a resource for campus and through its efforts has initiated a sustainable bike share program, co-curricular programming for multiple academic projects (outdoor classroom, ecological restoration, audubon certified golf course, solid waste minimization and diversion, and the solar pathways development plan). The office also offers internships for every discipline on campus and typically hosts 10-15 trans-disciplinary interns each semester.
