A brief description of the practice of including community service on transcripts, if applicable:
Throughout the university, many organizations participate in a number of different community service events. Organizations have adopted almost every street on the Illinois State University (ISU) campus, and have dates set each month where they clean the entire street. ISU has designated times each semester where organizations can clean the Quad and receive money for their Registered Student Organization. Companies within the community also support the campus by providing many community service events each semester. Students are able to volunteer at business' around the town: such as the Midwest Food Bank, Alzheimer's Center, Special Olympics, and much more.

Employees at Illinois State University (ISU) have the opportunity to involve themselves in community service. In the organizations listed above, they all have faculty adviser's that are able to work on community service projects. Within these projects, the organization can recognize faculty members, so that they can be recognized by the university. ISU has written articles about faculty members that are being a positive role model for students on the campus.
