Throughout the past year, ISU faculty, staff and students have given presentations on sustainability initiatives at conferences around the Midwest region. Here is a list of the topics these presentations have covered:
Sustainability In The Residence Halls: This presentation focused on student initiatives in the residence halls and how they are reducing energy, water and paper consumption. (Given at Green Government Coordinating Council’s Sustainable University Symposium, Champaign, IL)
Infusing Sustainability Into Your Student Body: This presentation focused on the recent increase in sustainability opportunities for students at ISU and how these opportunities have impacted the campus. (Given at Western Illinois University Sustainability Symposium, Macomb, IL)
Community Food Waste Composting: This presentation gave a brief overview of ISU's community composting initiatives and how they have impacted the university, and Bloomington-Normal. (Given at Green Government Coordinating Council’s Sustainable University Symposium, Champaign, IL)
Green is Everyone’s Job: This presentation broke down misconceptions on what is it to "Go Green", and how any individual, in any industry has the ability to become more sustainable. (Presentation given at Women in Green professional development conference, Benton, IL)

A brief summary of additional ways the institution collaborates with other campuses to advance sustainability :
Illinois Sustainable Living & Wellness Expo: This day long expo brings various organizations from around Mclean County together for a day of sharing and advocating ideas, and information about sustainable living. Illinois State University is one of the organisations that participates and provides logistical support for the event. Other organisations partaking in this community wide event include, Illinois Wesleyan University, Heartland Community College, Ecology Action Center, Bloomington-Normal Public Transit System, The Center for Sustainable Communities, and the Mclean County Greenways Advisory Committee.
