A brief description of the institution’s main campus and other aspects of the institutional boundary used to complete this report:

The main campus of IIT is the Mies Campus, located in the Bronzeville neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. It is bordered by Michigan Ave to the east, 35th St to the south, the Dan Ryan Expressway to the west, and 30th's St to the north. The campus includes buildings used for all aspects of the University, including student housing, academics, research, administration, athletics, and recreation.

IIT does have satellite campuses but they are not included in this report.

Which of the following features are present on campus and which are included within the institutional boundary?:
Present? Included?
Agricultural school No No
Medical school No No
Other professional school with labs and clinics (e.g. dental, nursing, pharmacy, public health, veterinary) No No
Satellite campus Yes No
Farm larger than 5 acres or 2 hectares No No
Agricultural experiment station larger than 5 acres or 2 hectares No No
Hospital No No

The rationale for excluding any features that are present from the institutional boundary:

Satellite campuses are administrated largely separately from the main campus, and house separate academic institutions than the main campus. These satalite campuses include the Downtown Campus which houses the Chicago-Kent College of Law, Institute of Design, and Stuart School of Business, the Moffett Campus with the Institute for Food Safety and Health, and the Rice Campus which offers some of the same courses and programs as the Mies Campus.
