Does the institution have a program to reduce residence hall move-out waste?:
Yes
None
A brief description of the program:
In addition to the waste and cardboard dumpsters, IIT has a “Trash to Treasure” program. With this program, students are able to leave any personal items or non-perishable food they would be disposing of at a location in McCormick Student Village, the largest set of residential halls on campus. Since this location is open to campus residents, other residents are able to sort through the items and take anything that other students leave in the stacks. Any items left after move-out are sorted through by our staff and donated.
