A brief description of the metering system:
IIT has a metering system that tracks electricity, gas, water, steam, hot water, and chilled water for all 52 of our main campus buildings. This information is web accessible from terminals on campus and specific reports are generated for facilities and energy management personnel. This, combined with the Siemens system previously mentioned in Energy Tier Two Credit 1 and a smart grid controller provide full information of campus energy flows. In the system mentioned in credit 5, IIT meters all energy consumption at all buildings on campus.
