It is the function of the joint service to provide the University and the organizations that are part of the joint venture with the advice and support they need, depending on the risks in it and in reference to:
- The design, implementation and application of an occupational risk prevention plan that allows the integration of prevention in the university.
- The evaluation of risk factors that may affect the workers' health and safety in the terms provided in article 16 of Law 31/1995.
- Preventive activity planning and priorities determination in the adoption of preventive measures. Monitoring of their effectiveness.
- Workers' Information and training. Emergency plans. Organization of surveillance and health control of the working personnel.
- The design, implementation and application of an occupational risk prevention plan that allows the integration of prevention in the university.
- The evaluation of risk factors that may affect the workers' health and safety in the terms provided in article 16 of Law 31/1995.

On Barcelona and Madrid campuses, the methodology used to track and calculate the number of recordable incidents of work-related injuries or illnesses is based on the accident investigation procedure, from the Management and Procedures Manual, its codification being "SGPRL-16".

IESE Business School, as a member entity and business school of the University of Navarra, has an occupational health and safety management system on the Barcelona and Madrid Campuses in accordance with Law 31/1995, that establishes the legal framework in Spain in this matter.
It is important to highlight that, from the figures reported above, 93 % of the FTEs correspond to Barcelona and Madrid Campuses (643.3 FTEs).
In Munich and New York no formal system is implemented because both campuses are too small. Good practices and safety guidelines are followed according to the type and size of its operations. where the risk is minimum.
The Annual number of recordable incidents of work-related injury or ill health were "0" in the academic year 2021-2022.
