Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Impact Investment Competition (IIC)

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
Impact Investment Competition (IIC) is an event (competition) hosted by IESE.
Students from top business schools are invited to compete and work intensely on selected start-ups in the impact sphere. For students, this is a great learning opportunity to practice their impact investment skills, by doing due diligence and negotiating term sheets of an investment. On the other hand, start-up founders enjoy this great opportunity to refine their pitching and negotiation skills with the students, under the scrutiny of a jury. Student teams are evaluated by a panel of judges made up of impact investors across Europe and the US. The winning team receives €1,000.
Impact Investing:
impact investing is about investing capital with the intention to generate positive, measurable environmental and social impact alongside achieving positive financial returns. Impact investing rests on two important pillars: intentionality and measurement. This means that the intention underlying the investor’s decisions needs to include both social / environmental and financial returns. Furthermore, the social and environmental impact generated by an investment needs to be measurable in a way that allows for objective reporting.
