A brief description of the faculty sustainability research program:
The institution has created the Sustainable Leadership Initiative (SLI), which is dedicated to generating rigorous, impactful knowledge to prompt leaders across sectors to create economic, social, and environmental value for their organizations and for society. It launched an internal SLI Research Workshop Series, which involved IESE faculty from nine different academic departments. The aim of this series was to encourage collaboration across disciplines and accelerate the development and dissemination of sustainable leadership knowledge. It catalyzed the launch of the first Sustainability Executive Education Focused Program. Led by Professors Pascual Berrone and Mike Rosenberg, the program aimed to equip executives with the knowledge and skills needed to lead their organizations towards more sustainable business practices. Finally, it hosted the 1st Business Schools for Climate Leadership (BS4CL) Academic Conference and Business Forum at IESE Barcelona on June 1-2, 2023. BS4CL is a collaborative project with other leading business schools such as Cambridge, HEC Paris, IE, IMD, INSEAD, LBS, and Oxford. The conference helped deepen the interaction among business school researchers working on climate change, fostering collaborations, and sharing the latest research across disciplines. The forum helped foster dialogue and collaboration between academic researchers in climate leadership and industry practitioners
