A brief description of the time period on which the figures reported above are based :

This data set is composed of cleaning and janitorial purchases from the calendar year 2022, spanning January 1, 2022 through Dec 31, 2022 and includes all custodial cleaning and janitorial paper purchases for the campus. Since our last report, the three prior custodial vendors (Waxie, Mendes, and Restif) have all been consolidated into one entity which is Facilities Management Custodial and all products are now bought through Waxie, unless a product cannot be found through them.

Per STARS criteria, cleaning tools such as gloves, brushes, sponges, etc. are not included in the spending inventory.

Additional documentation to support the submission:
Data source(s) and notes about the submission:

In prior iterations of the report, custodial was broken into three distinct areas for which cleaning and janitorial paper products were purchased. These included:
-Regular Facilities Management custodial activities in main campus
-Housing & Residence Life custodial activities
-Nelson Hall & the Student Activities Center, which used to be called University Center

At this time, Facilities Management centralizes all custodial purchases and operations through one group for all of these spaces. Third party cleaning services such as Restif are no longer used by the campus.

Specifically, in July 2018, Facilities Management Custodial merged with Housing & Res Life Custodial, and since that time, products and activities are streamlined to be consistently purchased for both entities.

The following statements are true of purchases made to service Facilities Management and Housing/Res Life custodial activities:
-Custodial cleaning products for main campus not carrying green certification are those that need especially deep or disinfecting qualities and include:
COMET DEODORIZING CLEANSER 21-OZ/24, #870256
WAXIE SOLSTA 730 HP DISINFECTANT CLEANER 3L 4/CS, #170059
WAXIE DEFOAMER FOAM DISSIPATOR GL 4/CS, #1070324
WAXIE GUM AWAY II AEROSOL 6 OZ 12/CS, #1070451
WAXIE GRAFFITI WIPES 6/70 PER CASE, #410245

-Janitorial paper products not carrying green certification include Waxed paper liners for wall unit and toilet seat covers.

-Custodial made a concerted effort in 2022 to find a certified green floor wax. They were pleased to select Coastwide 80 Professional Floor Finish and sealer after struggling to find a green certified product that would cure in our rainy and humid geography.

See attached spreadsheet for detail.
