Effective April 1, 2021, the campus entered into a new collegiate licensing partnership with Affinity Licensing (read more at https://now.humboldt.edu/news/hsu-enters-licensing-partnership-to-advance-and-protect-brand). This partnership means that Affinity will act as the exclusive agency to manage and grow the University's brand licensing strategy and relationships with manufacturers and retailers. As such and per the adoption of this new relationship, all licensed vendors are held to a robust code of conduct that includes labor rights.

All Affinity vendors are contractually required to strictly comply with the Fair Labor Association (FLA) Code of Conduct should the school not have its own code. The FLA code is attached in the 'additional documentation to support the submission' field below. Specific contract language is as follows:

10. CODE OF CONDUCT: LICENSEE shall comply and conform with LICENSOR’s code of conduct listed in Appendix E to this Agreement, in the manufacture, distribution and sale of Licensed Products as they are defined in this Agreement. Should LICENSOR not have a specific code of conduct, then LICENSEE shall strictly comply with the Fair Labor Association Workplace Code of Conduct. Failure to comply with the LICENSOR’s code or Fair Labor code shall be a material breach of the Agreement and shall give AFFINITY, on behalf of LICENSOR, the immediate right to terminate the Agreement. LICENSEE agrees to permit AFFINITY or a duly authorized representative on behalf of LICENSOR to inspect any or all facilities where Licensed Products are being manufactured and packaged. Should the facilities be owned by a third-party, LICENSEE agrees to arrange such access to inspect facilities. If LICENSEE utilizes other manufacturers to supply Licensed Products, LICENSEE shall require that their manufacturer(s) sign an Authorized Manufacturer’s Agreement.
