The Cal Poly Humboldt Digital Commons platform started in 2015 as a site that promotes research, scholarly publications, and creative works from Cal Poly Humboldt, the Press at Cal Poly Humboldt, and community collaborations. The Cal Poly Humboldt Digital Commons platform provides opportunities to post content and share research with the academic and global community, including supporting journal hosting, conference management, book publishing, editorial and peer-review tools, and open educational resources. The Press at Cal Poly Humboldt uses the Digital Commons platform to advance knowledge as a publisher of educational, scholarly, trade books, and creative works. The Press at Cal Poly Humboldt provides editing, design, and layout services at no cost, while the Digital Commons platform houses the research and literary work and makes it freely available to an international audience using advanced search engine optimization. The Humboldt “Sustainable Learning” efforts offer $300 to faculty who participate in current faculty training, utilizing campus Librarians to support low/no cost adoptions, meeting criteria for open access.
