Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
There are three areas for which cleaning and janitorial paper products are purchased:
-Regular Facilities Management custodial activities in main campus
-Housing & Residence Life custodial activities
-University Center Third Party Contract with Restif
In July 2018, Facilities Management Custodial merged with Housing & Res Life Custodial, and since that time, products and activities are streamlined to be consistently purchased for both entities.
The following statements are true of purchases made to service Facilities Management and Housing/Res Life custodial activities:
-Custodial cleaning products for main campus not carrying green certification include Knock out mildew stain remover and Formula 409 cleaner degreaser / disinfectant
-Custodial cleaning products not carrying green certification for housing include Tilex Mildew Root Petetrator and Suprox-D Neutral pH Disinfectant Cleaner.
-Janitorial paper products not carrying green certification include Waxed paper liners for wall unit and toilet seat covers.
-For the most part, custodial and janitorial products are purchased for both main campus and Housing through Waxie. Only one-off, odd expenditures are placed through Mendes (such as for a few toilet paper purchases for units that don't fit the Waxie rolls).
The University is looking to carry toilet seat covers that are green certified in the near future.
Restif is a third party that is contracted to clean all first floor Nelson Hall East, and University Center in the following spaces the Depot, South Lounge, all Associated Students Areas, Karshner Lounge, KBR, all restrooms. Since they do not purchase specific products only used for their services at HSU, they made a rounded estimate for expenditures on products in just the University Center. Restif does not provide janitorial paper products for their service area.
