A brief description of the institution’s professional development opportunities on sustainability in the curriculum:
HSU has participated in two webinars on campus in 2019 as part of the CSU-BW: Climate Change & Water Collaboration, which were open to faculty & staff throughout the CSU system. This is an initiative of CSU and German campuses to share research on the effects of climate change and to strengthen international collaboration, build multi-institution and interdisciplinary research teams, and to establish ongoing communications for upcoming funding opportunities. Read the event announcement here: http://pmc.humboldt.edu/portal/save-date-creating-climate-change-collaboration-4c-webcast-part-2.
Additionally, during the Spring 2020 term, HSU's Center for Teaching and Learning will offer a Faculty Learning Community on Integrating Sustainability to classes. By participating in the 2020 Faculty Learning Community (FLC) on Integrating Sustainability, faculty will explore and reflect on a variety of strategies and practices applicable to all disciplines and programs. They will interact with an interdisciplinary group of colleagues to develop, implement, assess, and share the results of our work. Along the way, they will:
--Acquire skills and knowledge in sustainability through collaborative study, expertise exchange, and professional dialogue
--Explore sustainability resources from the campus to the community and beyond
--Participate in a variety of instructional strategies to foster sustainability teaching
--See Campus as a Living Lab for teaching & learning sustainability

Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
The Center for Teaching and Learning is currently only offering programming for HSU faculty, but participation in the CSU-BW: Climate Change & Water Collaboration included participants from multiple campuses, which therefore meets criteria for this credit. This collaboration was shared and made available locally through Sponsored Programs, though the creator/coordinator for the collaborative was not directly HSU.
