Has the institution conducted a GHG emissions inventory within the previous three years that includes all Scope 1 and 2 emissions? :
Yes

A copy of the most recent GHG emissions inventory:
A brief description of the methodology and/or tool used to complete the GHG emissions inventory:

Humber College's greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory was compiled for the 2021/22 reporting year following the reporting requirements of The Climate Registry (TCR) General Reporting Protocol (Version 2.1, January 2016) and the TCR Local Government Operations (LGO) Protocol for the Quantification and Reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventories (Version 1.1, May 2010). Our GHG inventory tool was developed by a 3rd party consultant using industry standard methods described above. Currently, the Office of Sustainability team inputs Humber College's consumption data in the tool every year to calculate Scope 1,2 and 3 emissions every fiscal year. The following equation was applied to Humber College’s 2021/22 utility consumption for calculating Scope 1+2 emissions:

CO2 e (tonnes)=Fuel Use or Activity Level (Unit) * Emission Factor (tonnes of CO2e/Unit)

Has the GHG emissions inventory been validated internally by personnel who are independent of the GHG accounting and reporting process and/or verified by an independent, external third party?:
Yes

A brief description of the GHG inventory verification process:

GreenerU Inc. reviewed and verified the GHG inventory reporting methods and process. Using Humber's methodology document and the GHG Accounting Protocol, GreenerU verified the process within Humber's GHG calculator tool.

Data source(s) and notes about the submission:

Humber's GHG inventory includes emissions related to purchased goods and services such as purchased paper and food products for the 2021/22 reporting year. Emissions from paper use is 16 tCO2e and emissions from food is 1352 tCO2e. As a result, emissions from purchased goods and services is 1368 tCO2e.
