A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):
Humber has an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) which connects all employees to a network of professionals that assist with personal, family and/or work concerns, confidentially.
Humber also provides employees access to the ‘Best Doctors’ program that help find specialists and get expert answers to medical questions, understand conditions and treatment options as well as assistance in navigating the medical system. Employees can get a second opinion of a diagnosis, and be connected to the best globally available doctors and treatment options.
Humber has an on-site athletics center and membership free to all staff and included for student in their program costs. This includes access to classes, gym, etc. There is a community pool on the Humber site which Humber staff can use.
Humber fosters an environment of continuous learning for its employees by providing financially assistance for those pursuing their professional development goals with the Tuition Assistance Program. Humber staff can also take courses offered by Humber at a reduced rate. HR runs learning and organizational development courses for staff in a range of subjects throughout the year.
Humber has Healthcare Facilities available at both the North and Lakeshore campuses. Nurses staff the centers daily, and Physicians are also available through a limited number of walk in appointments.
Students have access to healthcare facilities, dental, and massage therapy as part of their programs. There are resource centres for mental well being that are available to students.
