A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting:
This data was collected in the Winter 2017 Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Survey that is as administered to all students. The KPI survey provides an opportunity for students to give feedback about their program and their college, which includes their commuting behavior to and from campus. There were a total of 13,712 students who reported their commuting behavior which is representative of the overall 2017 student population with a 99% confidence interval and ±0.9% error. The Student Satisfaction survey is a paper-based survey completed in-class, in February of each year, by colleges across the province. The results are then compiled by the external survey consultant firm CCI Research, contracted by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU).
