Humber College has four committees related to sustainability.

The Sustainability Coordinating Committee (SCC) is responsible for coordinating the college’s efforts to increase overall sustainability throughout the institution, supporting and guiding each of its sub-committees; and communicating new sustainability initiatives and programs across all of Humber’s campuses.

The Humber Operational Sustainability Committee (HOSC) is responsible for interpreting the operational goals included in Humber’s 2014-2019 Sustainability Plan; making recommendations that relate to the physical, fiscal and environmental operations; and working with Humber’s sustainability manager to attain the goals of the plan.

The Humber Academic Sustainability Committee (HASC) is responsible for interpreting the academic goals included in Humber’s 2014-2019 Sustainability Plan; making recommendations that relate to academic and research objectives; and working with Humber’s sustainability manager to attain the goals of the plan.

The Humber Community Engagement in Sustainability Committee (HCESC) is responsible for interpreting the community engagement goals included in Humber’s 2014-2019 Sustainability Plan; making recommendations that relate to the community engagement, outreach, communications and investment objectives; and working with Humber’s sustainability manager to attain the goals of the plan.

Humber's Office of Sustainability leads the college's sustainability initiatives and is a hub for campus engagement and information. We support the college community to integrate sustainability into everything we do.

Humber's Office of Sustainability activities include:
- Making campus operations more sustainable
- Collaborating and engaging with various stakeholders to implement sustainability projects and initiatives
- Tracking and publishing successes using defined metrics

There are two full time staff and 2-3 part-time students who are employed in the Office of Sustainability.

A brief description of the activities and substantive accomplishments of the institution-wide coordinating body or officer during the previous three years:

In 2014 the Office of Sustainability developed Humber's first five year Sustainability Plan which outlines clear targets and action items in 11 specific sustainability areas. The four sustainability committees were created out of the plan. Since then the committees have accomplished several initiatives campus-wide:
- Review of carpool program
- Run events such as Vegetarian days in the Fall semester, Earth Week in the Spring
- Develop a print and paper use survey and provide recommendations to Humber's executive.
The Office of Sustainability has accomplished many things in the previous years. These are outlined in our most recent 2014-2015 Sustainability Report.
