Humber’s Global Citizenship Certificate program is a cross-college, multi-disciplinary program designed to accommodate currently enrolled students from all Academic Schools. Envisioned as a “global backpack” or a set of courses and experiences that students can fit into their current studies, the program requires students to deepen their understanding of sustainability, human diversity, interconnectedness, cultural complexity, and enhance their sense of personal and community responsibility.

Humber offers multiple faculty-led service-learning experiences abroad which give students the opportunity to work with local communities on various aspects of social, economic and environmental dimensions of sustainability. Humber coordinates Global Affairs Canada’s International Youth Internship program, which involves young Canadians working abroad with communities to build sustainable solutions to self-identified needs of rural communities.
