Creation Care Committee
• Organize programming to raise awareness for sustainability and creation care issues
• Coordinate with faculty to include sustainability and creation care into existing curriculum
• Coordinate initiatives to reduce energy consumption
• Lead college efforts to explore renewable energy ideas and options
• Work with Food Service to increase Houghton’s offering of Fair Trade, organic, and locally grown foods
• Make recommendations for management decisions about college property use.
• Serve as a resource and advisory group for the Sustainability Coordinator
• Make recommendations regarding campus enhancement, beautification, and the prioritization of aesthetic improvements and decisions.

• Two (2) students selected by the Student Government Association (to include at least one representative from student groups concerned with the environment)
• Two (2) elected faculty representatives
• One (1) staff member representing the Facilities area
• One representative (1) from Student Life, appointed by the Vice President for Student Life
• One representative (1) from either MARCOM or the Admissions Office
• One representative (1) from the Community Relations office as a resource person
• One representative (1) from Food Service as a resource person
• The Sustainability Coordinator (1) as an ex officio member

Recent accomplishments include approving the installation of a campus orchard, approving the installation of "native grow zones," making a recommendation for a new office space for the Center for Sustainability, making a recommendation to decrease grounds pesticide use.
