1st campaign

Name of the campaign:
Kill a Watt Kompetition

A brief description of the campaign:
We held a competition whereby townhouses competed against each other to see which one could reduce their energy usage the most, compared to a baseline measurement. Townhouses were measured for 2 weeks to determine baseline usage. After this, measurements were taken 3x a week (by looking directly at the meter) and updated were give on a public sign in the Campus Center. Participants were given tips for reducing their energy usage. At the end, total energy reductions were measured and the townhouse with the greatest reduction was given a pizza party.

A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign:
Among participating townhouses, the average townhouse reduced their electricity usage by 14% over a period of 3 weeks, with the winners reducing their usage by 40%.
